The Commerce-dependent operators of 99 Cents Only suppliers announced Thursday they will shutter all 371 of its destinations — which includes two in Extensive Seaside and just one in Signal Hill — with liquidation income established to commence at all of its merchants on Friday, April 5.
The go will affect all organization destinations in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
“This was an exceptionally difficult conclusion and is not the end result we anticipated or hoped to reach,” interim company CEO Mike Simoncic stated in a statement. “Unfortunately, the last a number of years have offered significant and lasting issues in the retail environment, like the unparalleled impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, shifting client demand, mounting degrees of shrink, persistent inflationary pressures and other macroeconomic headwinds, all of which have drastically hindered the organization’s capability to work.”
The price cut chain has various suppliers in the Lengthy Beach front area which include:
- 2012 Extended Beach front Blvd., Extensive Beach,
- 1851 Willow St., Signal Hill
- 1190 E. Carson St., Lengthy Beach
- 4929 Woodruff Ave., Lakewood
- 12125 Carson St., Hawaiian Gardens
According to the enterprise, it has partnered with Hilco Authentic Estate to facilitate liquidation of all merchandise, together with “sure fixtures, furnishings and products at the business’s shops.”
The 99 Cents Only shops have been launched in 1982.
Business officials stated they conferred with monetary and lawful advisers in hopes of obtaining a way to continue on functioning.
“Pursuing months of actively pursuing these options, the organization eventually established that an orderly wind-down was important and the most effective way to increase the worth of 99 Cents Only Suppliers’ belongings,” according to a business assertion.
